I grew up in West Michigan and have handled civil litigation from several perspectives: as a judicial law clerk, an attorney defending personal injury claims, and now an advocate for injured people. I use that experience to help my clients understand the legal process, confront insurance company defenses, and pursue full and fair compensation.

WHO AM I?

I was born in Grand Rapids and raised in the Muskegon area. After graduating from Whitehall Senior High School, I earned my B.A. from Michigan State University and my J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.

Before joining Shafer Swartz, I served as a judicial law clerk for Michigan’s 49th Circuit Court and spent nearly four years representing insurers and defendants in civil litigation. I now use that experience to represent people injured by the carelessness of others. Outside the office, I enjoy fishing, boating, golf, exploring local restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.

At Shafer Swartz, I represent people injured in motor vehicle collisions, dog attacks, unsafe property conditions, and other incidents caused by the carelessness of others. I also help clients navigate insurance coverage, Michigan No-Fault benefits, medical expenses, and reimbursement claims.
